In collaboration with the United Way of Greater Atlanta, the Center for Family Resources is proud to unveil a transformative initiative aimed at fostering financial stability within our community – the Savings Incentive Program. This innovative program represents a significant step towards empowering participants to proactively save for the future, thereby mitigating the impact of unforeseen financial challenges.

At the heart of the Savings Incentive Program lies a simple yet powerful concept: encouraging individuals to build a financial safety net by setting aside funds for emergencies and unexpected expenses. By instilling a culture of savings, we aim to equip families with the resources needed to navigate life’s uncertainties without spiraling into debt.

Here’s how it works:

Enrollment and Savings Commitment: To enroll in the program, clients are required to have a savings account and commit to saving a minimum of $25 each month. What sets this initiative apart is the generous matching contribution provided by the United Way – up to $600. This means that participants who save $100 monthly stand to earn up to $600 in matched funds during the 6-month program.

Credit Score Incentive: In addition to the savings match, participants have the opportunity to earn an extra $100 by successfully increasing their credit score by at least 30 points. This dual incentive structure not only encourages savings but also promotes responsible financial behavior.

Comprehensive Support Services: Beyond the financial aspect, clients will receive holistic support to bolster their financial literacy and stability. Working closely with dedicated case managers, participants will undergo a thorough review of their spending habits, create personalized budgets, and set achievable financial goals. Additionally, they’ll have access to bi-weekly “Financial Empowerment” Life Skills classes, online financial literacy courses, and employment services to enhance their financial knowledge and prospects.

Nutritional Support: Recognizing the interconnectedness of financial and physical well-being, participants will be encouraged to utilize our on-site Choice Food Pantry, providing access to nutritious food options to help alleviate financial strain and promote healthy eating habits.

Celebrating Success: Upon successful completion of the program, participants will be celebrated and recognized at a graduation ceremony, complete with door prizes to honor their dedication and achievements.

The Savings Incentive Program isn’t just about accumulating wealth; it's about empowering individuals and families to take control of their financial futures. Through education, support, and incentives, we believe that every participant has the potential to achieve lasting stability and
prosperity. Join us as we embark on this journey towards a brighter, more secure tomorrow for all.
