Volunteer at The CFR
From our choice pantry, The Family Cupboard, to our events like our annual gala and Thanks for Giving program there are numerous ways to volunteer at The Center for Family Resources. We rely on our volunteers, including the more than 400 volunteers who help with Thanks for Giving in the fall, and the various committee positions for events throughout the year.
Volunteer to Assist Clients
Our food pantry is operated primarily by volunteers. These dedicated people—who are trained and are cleared through background checks—assist shoppers Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday—providing valuable nutritional information and tips to maximize food budgets. If you would like to become a CFR volunteer, please reach out to Sonseeharaytunis-roberson@thecfr.org or click on the volunteer calendar to look for the next orientation opportunity.
UPCOMING ORIENTATION DATES: July 23, July 29, September 17, November 5
Corporate & Group Volunteering
We welcome corporate, church, school or other groups to volunteer in The Family Cupboard choice pantry on Wednesdays. This is the day we restock our shelves, receive donations and make express boxes. No background check is required for this type of volunteering. To volunteer to stock our shelves, please reach out to sonseeharaytunis-roberson@thecfr.org.
Volunteer at Events
The CFR has three primary events a year: the Gala, Bridgebuilders Breakfast, and Thanks for Giving. Each event has unique opportunities to volunteer, with more than 400 volunteers helping collect, sort, pack and deliver food for Thanks for Giving alone. To learn more about our event-based volunteer opportunities, please reach out to melissaobrien@thecfr.org.
