Our Annual Gala

The Center for Family Resources’ 2026 Gala, Under the Serengeti Sky, was a tremendous success! Held on May 9, 2026, the evening brought our community together for an unforgettable night of entertainment, generosity, and hope.

During the event, we proudly presented the Heart in Action Award to Cobb County Magistrate Court for their partnership in our Housing Security Program, which helps families avoid first-time evictions and remain safely housed.

We are grateful to our chairwoman, Tahnicia Phillips, the Gala Committee, our presenting sponsors–Atlanta Fibroid Center and Genuine Parts Company– and all of our sponsors, and supporters who made the evening possible.

THANKS FOR GIVING

The Center for Family Resources’ THANKS FOR GIVING program provides 1,000 families in Cobb County with food for a delicious Thanksgiving meal and the entire holiday week. With the help of corporate sponsorship, food drives with businesses and schools, and volunteers, we can ensure children who participate in free or reduced meal programs at school continue to have nourishment while on school break. We are pleased that our Presenting Sponsor in 2025 was Lockheed Martin.

In 2025, the community was able to put together 1,135 boxes of food with enough to feed a family of four for the entire week. Boxes were distributed through our school partnerships with Cobb County Schools and Marietta City Schools, to Cobb Senior Services and to our clients. Thank you!

Annual Bridge Builder Breakfast

This year, our annual Bridge Builder Breakfast. presented by Genuine Parts Company, will be held on August 11th at Chattahoochee Technical College at the Marietta Campus. This event was an opportunity for individuals and businesses to learn more about The Center for Family Resources and to help “build a bridge” to the programs and services we offer.

Through this event, we encourage new recurring and/or one-time donors to join us in supporting our mission. These donors allow us to provide consistent resources to help families move toward permanent housing and self-sufficiency. Sign up here to become a Bridge Builder today!

Volunteer Orientations

Our food pantry operates with the help of volunteers. Volunteers who assist shoppers on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday must first go through one of our volunteer orientations that are conducted every other month. For more information about the latest volunteer orientation, please see our calendar or contact sonseeharaytunis-roberson@thecfr.org. Upcoming orientations include July 15, September 15 and November 4, 2026.
