Four decades. Thousands of families. One incredible community tradition.
For 40 years, Thanks for Giving has brought Cobb County together to make sure families experiencing food insecurity can sit down to a Thanksgiving meal filled with dignity, warmth, and hope. This milestone year, we’re going bigger than ever—and we need YOU.
We’re inviting schools, businesses, churches, HOAs, and community groups to join the celebration by sponsoring and hosting food drives from late October through mid-November. Every donation helps continue a 40-year legacy of neighbors helping neighbors.
Food drop-off will take place November 16–17, and we’ll need volunteers from November 16–20 to help sort, pack, and box enough food to feed 1,000 families for the week of Thanksgiving. Annual Bridge Builder Breakfast
This year, our annual Bridge Builder Breakfast. presented by Genuine Parts Company, will be held on August 11th at Chattahoochee Technical College at the Marietta Campus. This event was an opportunity for individuals and businesses to learn more about The Center for Family Resources and to help “build a bridge” to the programs and services we offer.
Through this event, we encourage new recurring and/or one-time donors to join us in supporting our mission. These donors allow us to provide consistent resources to help families move toward permanent housing and self-sufficiency. Sign up here to become a Bridge Builder today!

Volunteer Orientations
Our food pantry operates with the help of volunteers. Volunteers who assist shoppers on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday must first go through one of our volunteer orientations that are conducted every other month. For more information about the latest volunteer orientation, please see our calendar or contact sonseeharaytunis-roberson@thecfr.org. Upcoming orientations include July 15, September 15 and November 4, 2026.
