THANKS FOR GIVING
The Center for Family Resources’ THANKS FOR GIVING program provides 1,000 families in Cobb County with food for a delicious Thanksgiving meal and the entire holiday week. With the help of corporate sponsorship, food drives with businesses and schools, and volunteers, we can ensure children who participate in free or reduced meal programs at school continue to have nourishment while on school break. We are pleased that our Presenting Sponsor this year is Lockheed Martin.
In November of 2025, corporate and group donation drop off is at the IAM Lodge at 1032 South Marietta Parkway will take place on FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 14th and MONDAY-TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 17-18th.

Annual Bridge Builder Breakfast
This year, our annual Bridge Builder Breakfast. presented by Genuine Parts Company, was held on Friday, August 15, 2025. This event was an opportunity for individuals and businesses to learn more about The Center for Family Resources and to help “build a bridge” to the programs and services we offer. The topic of this year’s event was “The Bridge To Success: Overcoming Homelessness as a Student.” Our featured speakers included a former student and Marietta City Schools Superintendent Grant Rivera.
Through this event, we encourage new recurring and/or one-time donors to join us in supporting our mission. These donors allow us to provide consistent resources to help families move toward permanent housing and self-sufficiency. Sign up here to become a Bridge Builder today!

Volunteer Orientations
Our food pantry operates with the help of volunteers. Volunteers who assist shoppers on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday must first go through one of our volunteer orientations that are conducted every other month. For more information about the latest volunteer orientation, please see our calendar or contact sonseeharaytunis-roberson@thecfr.org.
