Yvonne G., a single mother and head of her household, lived a financially stable life until she transitioned into a new work opportunity from her former place of employment. Unfortunately, the new company rescinded the job offer, leaving Yvonne jobless and needing financial support to cover her household expenses.

In her search for local organizations that provide families with resources, Yvonne found the Center for Family Resources and connected with our team. She was assigned a case manager, who worked closely with her to provide financial assistance through our Rental Assistance Program.

“My case manager was very compassionate yet honest about the whole process. She told me what documentation to gather for my rental assistance application and kept me motivated to continue my job search,” mentioned Yvonne.

Yvonne also connected with one of our employment specialists, who helped her get back into the process of applying for jobs. Within a few weeks, Yvonne landed a brand new job at the headquarters of a well-known local organization. She has completed her 90-day trial period, is a full-time employee and enjoys wonderful benefits.

“I got my new job because of the CFR and the help of my case managers,” she shared.

Reflecting on her situation and how the Center for Family Resources impacted her life, Yvonne repeatedly mentioned how compassion and honesty were essential skills provided by our team members. She felt safe and comfortable about asking for help, and most importantly, she felt heard.

As Yvonne continues her renewed path, she remains motivated thanks to her faith and the actionable steps she has set forth to pursue her goals.
