Tammy was diagnosed with congestive heart failure before the Coronavirus pandemic. When she tested positive for COVID-19 she was terrified. Her heart condition made her high-risk and her recovery was more difficult than expected. Eventually she lost her job and had very little support for her and her son. She was struggling financially and still unemployed.  She fell behind on her mortgage payments and was at risk of losing her house.

Tammy was eventually connected to the Center for Family Resources. Through one of our COVID-19 emergency support grants, our case manager was able to assess Tammy’s situation and provide her with assistance to cover her missed mortgage payments. “I am very grateful to the CFR and my case manager SaVannah for assisting me while I am unable to work,” said Tammy. Tammy is looking forward to returning to work and sees her doctor regularly to make sure she is managing her condition the best she can. Thanks to the services provided by CFR, she and her son will spend the holidays safely at home.
