CFR Leadership Reflects on Counting Cobb’s Homeless

The 2019 Point-in-Time Count for Cobb County is underway. The Center for Family Resources is managing the event this year, from securing volunteers, conducting training to distributing the final numbers to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) and the public. The Marietta Daily Journal (MDJ) mentioned our own VP of Operations, Lee Smith, in recent coverage on the event.

Local HUD departments across the nation use these Point-in-Time surveys to track statistics on homeless populations. The survey is made up of anonymous, noninvasive questions in connection to an individual’s veteran status, substance abuse history, mental illness and other factors. We utilize our experience in working with homeless populations around Cobb County to ensure the most accurate results from within our community.
