On Saturday, August 9, 2008, thousands of toy turtles will ride the waves as Sun Valley Beach (create a live link that links to www.sunvalleybeach.com) hosts its Fifth Annual Turtle Race, a fundraiser event that will benefit The Center for Family Resources. CFR Prepares for Thanksgiving
As families prepare for a holiday with loved ones surrounding a Thanksgiving feast, many of our Cobb neighbors must stretch their budgets, making it difficult to afford a Thanksgiving meal for their families. The Center for Family Resources, in partnership with the Cobb County Department of Family and Children Services, has been providing Thanksgiving baskets to families in need in Cobb County for more than 20 years. It is only through donations from the community that we are able to continue to feed hungry families in Cobb County. In 2007, CFR provided Thanksgiving baskets to 1,000 families. CFR saw a significant increase in need during the first half of 2008 and has set a goal to provide baskets to 1,450 families this Thanksgiving. More info… |
