Housing services

Affordable, independent living options.

The lack of affordable housing in the community does more than hurt individuals economically; having less affordable housing affects an entire community because it directly results in more homelessness. The Center for Family Resources’ Housing Services provides affordable, independent living options that include supportive services – like childcare assistance, transportation, budgeting workshops, and other life-skills classes. Unlike congregate shelters, CFR Housing Services places families in their own apartments, where they have 24-hour access to safe, secure housing. CFR is able to provide its housing services to the community with the partnership and participation from various apartment complexes in Cobb County.

  • Short-Term Housing Program – CFR currently provides 9 units for clients who enter the 90-day program. Residents contribute weekly to their shelter costs with the ultimate goal of moving the family into permanent housing.
  • Transitional Housing Program – CFR currently provides 28 units for clients who enter the 24-month Transitional Housing Program. Residents contribute a percentage of their income to their shelter costs with the ultimate goal of returning the family to market-rate housing with the skills necessary for long-term residential stability.
  • Permanent, affordable housingCambridge Woods, a 32-unit apartment complex owned and operated by CFR, offers housing to the community at a current monthly rate of $525. Residents must have an income that is equal to, or above, three times the monthly rent.
