Employment and education services

Employment/Education Services offers an array of programs and services assisting participants to obtain and retain employment. Our programs are designed to meet the demands of the job market and prepare participants to earn a sustainable wage.

Several programs are offered:

  1. GED Prep – A sub-site of Cobb Adult Basic Education, classes are designed to meet the needs of the non-traditional student.  Classes are offered in the afternoon and evenings.  Students work at their own pace individually with a tutor or in small groups.
  2. Employment Readiness – Our Employment/Education Case manager provides individualized counseling and instruction in interviewing skills, job search and retention skills, and resume preparation.
  3. Career Builders – Stand-alone career readiness workshops providing tools and skills for the workforce
  4. Life Skills Training – A variety of life management skills, including topics such as Time Management, Parenting, Child Development, Conflict Management, Stress Management, and Financial, etc. strengthen parents and prepare them to be effective leaders of their families and contributing members of our community.
  5. Computer Training – Low-cost computer training in popular office software is offered to businesses and the community in stand-alone modules.

Our programs are offered in the evenings to enable working parents to attend. Child care is offered at no cost to participants of our programs. By removing this barrier, parents have a safe and secure environment for their children while they work towards improving their family’s future.
