2010 Program Highlights

In 2010, The Center for Family Resources received more than 12,750 requests for assistance, with more than $5,080,900 in requests for rent and utilities.

CFR stabilized families by:

  • Providing 436 families with rent, utilities, transportation and prescriptions totaling more than $366,900
  • Feeding 1,955 households (5,596 people) with food from the food pantry
  • Providing Thanksgiving food boxes to nearly 1,300 households with $127,140 worth of donated food items and $19,500 worth of $15 grocery gift cards
  • Assisting 162 families with nearly $300,000 in rent/mortgage and utilities through the “Fresh Start” program
  • Assisting 44 families with $209,093 in rent and utilities through the Homeless Prevention and Rapid Re-Housing  (HPRP) Program

CFR empowered lives by:

  • Housing 73 families (205 persons) through the Short-Term and Transitional Housing Programs
  • 99 percent of participants achieved at least one housing or employment-related goal
  • 74 percent of families exited successfully to permanent housing

CFR secured futures by:

  • Providing 87 individuals with resume assistance, job search techniques and interview preparation through the Job Lab
  • Providing life skills training to 67 individuals
  • Providing 5+ hours of training to 176 GED students
  • Celebrating the graduation of 38 GED students
  • Matching 19 youth with a caring adult member through the Mentoring Program
