This year, our CEO Melanie Kagan, was selected as a participant of The Regional Leadership Institute (RLI) with the Atlanta Regional Commission. RLI engages participants in key issues facing the metro region. The program’s content is connected to the ARC’s core functions and key priorities. Over the course of the program, participants hear from some of the region’s top leaders and subject experts while exploring policy from an intersectional lens and regional approach. The program focuses on three vital pillars: Intersectionality, Equity and Community.
This year’s participants spent five days at Lake Lanier discussing everything from housing affordability, transit and transportation planning, economic development, and workforce development. This year’s facilitators from Blaze Leadership Development, Val Porter Cook and Elyse Klova, did an exceptional job of helping the group foster positive relationships while tackling challenging topics and diving into serious conversations that impact everyone in the Atlanta region.
“I’m honored to have been selected and humbled by the opportunity to learn from so many in our community working to build a better region. My classmates quickly became friends, and I am eager to continue to learn and grow while we build the future together. “ -Melanie Kagan, CEO
